Biodiversity Conservation Center Nepal (BCCN) is one of the NGOs with a group of trained and professional through a national NGO - Integrated Development Society (IDS), the project called Social and Health Awareness, Livelihood Improvement and Biodiversity Conservation Activities funded by SRCP/ ADB, previously worked for livelihood improvement , conservation education, fisheries and biodiversity conservation in Sunsari, Saptari and Udayapur districts. BCCN was established after the phasing out of IDS. Over the last three years, it worked with various communities in partnerships with Rural Municipalities and Municipalities, Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, and community groups to address the issues of species conservation, awareness on human-wildlife conflict, promotion of nature tourism, livelihood improvement and climate change & disaster risk reduction issues. BCCN has been facilitating and promoting biodiversity-based livelihood adaptive technologies, nature friendly initiatives and strengthening participatory planning. BCCN was registered in 2018 in the District Administration Office, Saptari and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council.
